About JD Answers Questions
JD Answers Questions is an attempt to cut through the noise when buying a home or refinancing a mortgage. Buying a home and getting approved for a mortgage can be of the most difficult and stressful times for most individuals. For many people, the purchase of a home is the largest purchase they will ever make. Due to the magnitude of the purchase, questions arise and answers aren't always easy to find.
In this blog, I hope to answer mortgage and real estate questions in the simplest way possible. Not the greatest writer, so expect spelling mistakes and grammatical errorts. But I promise to try to explain things in the most simplistic way possible.
Who is JD?
JD Teitelman (NMLS #527559) is a 15+ year veteran of the mortgage industry. He has been a mortgage processor, junior underwriter, loan office assistant and now a home mortgage loan officer.
Born in Connecticut, JD came to the DMV region for college and has stayed ever since. A double graduate of American University, he lives the “Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle” Motto. In 2015, he accomplished his goal to visit all 7 Continents. He caught the travel bug while studying abroad in Belgium in college.
Ever since, JD has traveled the world to explore new cultures particularly local cuisine. He has visted over 60+ countries and is working towards his goal of visiting 100 countires. In his spare time, JD enjoys binge watching Netflix shows, attending Washington Nationals’ baseball (he is a huge fan) and DC Defender Football games and earning as many airline miles and hotel points to feed his travel addiction.
He is a member of Greater Capital Area Region of Realtors (GCARR) and Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR) and volunteers on committees for both. A member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, he is currently District Governor of Maryland and DC for the fraternity.
JD works for Main Street Home Loans (NMLS #2893) and is liscensed to lend in DC, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. He has a network of referral partners able to help people with financing in 48 states (all but Hawaii and New York).
